Val d'Orcia

This is the longest tour: leave early, visit Pienza in the morning, then continue to San Quirico d'Orcia and Bagno Vignoni. Avoid packing too many villages into one day.

Begin at one of Pienza's car parks outside the walls. In the afternoon drive to Bagno Vignoni and use the signed car park at the entrance to the village.

Suggested route

  1. 01

    In Pienza follow Corso Rossellino to Piazza Pio II, visiting the Cathedral and Palazzo Piccolomini according to opening times.

    Walk to the panoramic terrace and browse pecorino shops near the centre.

  3. 03

    Drive to San Quirico d'Orcia for Horti Leonini and a walk along the main street.

  4. 04

    Finish at Bagno Vignoni with Piazza delle Sorgenti and the downhill path to Parco dei Mulini.
